NOVEMBER 2022

I’m writing this on the day my editor at Penguin Random House confirmed acceptance and delivery of my next novel UNIVERSITY TALES. Set in higher education in 1988 and based on my experience of working as a university lecturer during those times this novel will be out in hardback next year and introduces a new main character, Tom Frith, a 32 year old lecturer.

It has now gone on to the copy editor for checking before I have another opportunity to read it. In the meantime I’m busy considering my next writing project.

On another note, as an ex-rugby player, like many others I tuned in last Saturday to watch the World Cup Final between New Zealand and England. It was a huge disappointment when they fell just short of the ultimate prize. I’m determined to be at Twickenham for the next tournament when I’m hoping we shall be successful.

Meanwhile I’ve had many requests for speaking engagements and am trying to fit them around my writing commitments. Thanks also to readers (and listeners) who have purchased the audio version of LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, the fifteenth and final novel in the Teacher series.

Finally, thanks to everyone who has been in touch to say how much they have enjoyed the Teacher series and the amount of enjoyment they have experienced while reading my gentle tales.

Best wishes and happy reading,

Jack
