SEPTEMBER 2022

It’s September and almost the end of an eventful month when we said farewell to the Elizabethan age with such dignity.

Earlier in the month on 8th September the final novel in the Teacher series, number 15, LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, was launched in Waterstones Milton Keynes with the usual superb flair of events manager, Nikki Bloomer. This was followed by signings in Waterstones YORK and Waterstones ALTON where I met so many familiar faces who enjoy my books.

Now I’m at my desk again and about to complete UNIVERSITY TOM, the first novel in a new series set in Higher Education in the late eighties. It features a new main character with many of the storylines based on my own experiences as a lecturer in a college of Leeds University at that time. It will be in the shops next year.

Meanwhile, a little earlier I recorded this novel at the ISIS studio in Oxford so many thanks to the team there. The unabridged audio lasts a little over ten hours.

I’ve had lots of emails concerning the last two prequels to the Teacher series, BACK TO SCHOOL and SCHOOL DAYS.  So many thanks to the readers who have been in touch to say how much they enjoyed these gentle tales. Both of these novels are now out in audio.

I was in London earlier this week at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall for my ‘Meet the Author’ event. Sincere thanks to the events team for their superb organisation along with a lovely brunch and a hugely supportive audience. There was also some exciting news about television but more of that in my next newsletter.

On Monday 3rd October at 7.00 p.m. I’m in the delightful New Forest to talk to their Rotary Club. I was there a few years ago and I’m looking forward to catching up again with this lively group!

In the meantime, best wishes to everyone out there and happy reading,

Jack
